This single-family residential house built in 1951 was a fun and quick project. We found it listed on the RMLS. We offered cash, a very quick close, and offered to have a large earnest money deposit to be released after the sewer was scoped.
Our main objective from the beginning was to finish the project in ten weeks or less. The home was in good structural shape with only a few main issues to repair and lots of minor issues that we encountered.
The main things that needed to be repaired in the home were the roof, the siding of the house and the gutters. Some other big areas we upgraded were the windows, the kitchen, and the bathroom. We added new kitchen cabinets, vinyl flooring, an oven range, a range hood, and added a dishwasher in the kitchen. We repainted the outside of the house with a beautiful blue paint and a vibrant yellow door. This paint upgrade gives the home great curb appeal and gives an inviting feeling to those who walk by.
We removed the back awning to help open the backyard more. We added a new garage door and refinished the hardwood floors on the main levels and the stairs. We added insulation, drywall, lights, and carpet to create approximately 200 additional square feet in the attic. This new space in the attic will be a great spot for the owners to turn into a bedroom or office space. In the bathroom, we installed a new shower with surround subway tile, new tile floors, new vanity, and new shower fixtures. Next, we installed new light fixtures, doors, and door/cabinet hardware throughout the house.
These upgrades helped transform the home from a 1950’s traditional look to a more modern 2021 look. We have been really impressed by the friendly neighbors in this area and cannot wait to help add some additional wonderful neighbors to SE Madison St.
