This project was a unique and interesting one. When we found this home listed on the RMLS, we offered cash, did a very quick close, and offered to have a large earnest money deposit released as soon as the sewer was scoped. This offer appealed to the seller over another offer.
Our task from the start was to clear out a bunch of garbage and clean the house very thoroughly. We ended up collecting over two garbage dumpsters worth of garbage from the house. In the process of cleaning out the house, we found a few 18 karat gold chains and some rings that we sold for $420. We don’t mind the mess or the work, sometimes it leads to a little treasure too.
The main components of the house that we updated included the roof, furnace, electrical panel, kitchen, and bathrooms. We also added new light fixtures to the kitchen and the living room space, which helped to increase the light throughout the house. The old garage door was in bad shape, and we replaced it with a brand new one. We also replumbed all the water lines in the house and upgraded the electrical panel. After our repairs, the new owners will be happy that the house will not need to be repaired or updated for a long time.
